9.00 Opening Discussion – Why are we here?

9.10 Icebreaker – Names and rhymes; sample verbal reasoning

9.30 Sample Non-Verbal Reasoning paper – exploring some 
         test papers  
  
10.00 Break

10.30 English – How to read? Examining questions – what
           are they asking? What's a sentence? What's a
           paragraph? Some rules of Comprehension;
           incomplete sentences; paraphrasing practice

11.15 In pairs examining comprehension questions 
           underlining key words  
          

11.30 Writing answers

12.00 Lunch break

12.30 Introduction; mental maths game
          (Multiply by two as high as possible – to infinity)
          Maths Glossary – examine the terms used in questions;
          Subtraction; timesing

1.00 End. Interview list given to children to think about at 
         home in preparation for Sunday

          questions supplied on interview list;        
          division into groups A and B.
          Group A children to continue work on English 
          grammar and vocabulary until break                             
          

10.15 Group B to sit a maths paper

          children’s various abilities)

Below you will see examples of some exercises we would like you to practise in readiness for next weekend's workshop.
